Psalm 55:8
"I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest."
A bell buoy rings only during storms. When waters become rough, the ring gives warning. When the storm approaches, the sounding bell hastens the voyager to his safe haven. The beating of the waves and wind bring out the music that is within it, so too do trials reveal what is inside a person.
Stormy trials sometimes cause dep pain and sorrow. But these trials are not just meant for mourning. They afford us a moment to cast our anchor of hope upon the very One who can still the tempest!
Psalm 107:29-31
29 He maketh the storm a calm,
so that the waves thereof are still.
30 Then are they glad because they be quiet;
so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
The tempestuous trial you're facing brings about a ringing in your soul that causes the trembling lip to not just quiver but cry out for mercy! So cry out! Pour out the noise of your complaint.
Psalm 55:1-3
1 Give ear to my prayer, O God;
and hide not thyself from my supplication.
2 Attend unto me, and hear me:
I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
3 because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked:
for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.
Psalm 62:8
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalm 142:2
I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.
Psalm 102:1-2
1 Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and let my cry come unto thee.
2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble;
incline thine ear unto me:
in the day when I call answer me speedily.
